Scott Reilly, an artist friend of mine with a studio in West Oakland, has a new show at The Compound Gallery (entrance just around the corner from the wall above at 6604 San Pablo Avenue), November 1 through December 1. I attended the opening night; it's a strong and affecting show, and quite unlike most of the rest of what he does (some of which hangs in my own studio). Go see it if you get the chance… (2008).
