Straus Carpets, Ford Street. Mr Straus (whom I've met several times at Kefa) has a bunch of these seasonal or topical hand-painted signs that appear on the sidewalk in front of the shop; they always amuse me one way or another, and they nicely complement the good-natured home-made surrealism of some of the other stuff that's on the Straus walls (or used to be on the walls, before the fire)… (June 2009).
