The beautiful old grove of Bluegums in the western end of the UC Berkeley campus. When I first came to California I was amazed at the amount of Australian flora out here — gum trees (eucalypts), bottlebrush, acacia; just like (one of my) home town(s)… (June 2010).

Someone once asked me what equipment I used for Around Jingletown, and what was the most important tool in my toolbox. Well, this is it — my bike. It gets me everywhere, unobtrusively and reliably (and gets me out of trouble fast as well…). Couldn't do without it… (November 2009, somewhere near Harbor View Park).
